The Industry Collaboration Award is presented for exemplary skills development collaboration between an employer or industry body and at least one other organisation, and recognises an innovative program or product developed and implemented for the purpose of providing high quality vocational education and training.
Carers NT and Crest NT in collaboration with Response Employment and Training were Winners of the Industry Collaboration awards at the NT Training Awards on Saturday 23 September. Called “The Hidden Workforce” the collaboration project aimed to qualify existing unqualified carers with a Certificate III in Individual Support. Carers NT worked to identify potential participants, Crest NT project managed the collaboration and mentored the Carers, while Response Training and Employment (RTE) was engaged to deliver the training and flexible learning environment for participant’s success.
The outcome, 17 additional qualified carers for the support services industry and a number of them moved into paid employment as a result of their training.
